Meet your painter

Hi, I'm Tait.

I'm the owner and painter behind Simmons Interior Painting LLC—a proudly woman-owned business based in Bloomfield, Iowa.

When you hire me, you get me—from the first quote to the final coat. I'm the one showing up, doing the prep, and putting in the work. My crew is small enough that every staff meeting is technically me talking to myself.

Building this business means more to me than painting walls. It's about showing my kids—and anyone with a goal that feels a little out of reach—that you can back yourself, learn as you go, and build something you're proud of. I'm proud to be a woman doing exactly that.

Outside of work, I'm a mom of three with a few family pets, a love of houseplants, and a fishing trip I'm probably trying to fit into the calendar.

I'd love to hear what you have in mind for your home. Let's make something you're proud of, too.

From the prep to the final coat

A complete interior refresh.

Paint, stain, wallpaper, and the little repairs that bring it all together. From one wall to a whole-home refresh, let's talk about what your space needs.

01 / PAINT

Interior painting

Walls, ceilings, trim, baseboards, and doors. Refresh a single room, add an accent wall, or bring a consistent feel throughout your home.

02 / STAIN

Stain & wood finishes

Bring out the character of interior wood with staining and finishing for trim, doors, and other wood surfaces. We'll discuss the existing finish and the look you want.

03 / REPAIR

Small wall repairs

Patch nail holes, small cracks, and minor drywall or plaster damage. Sand and smooth repaired areas so they're ready for a fresh finish.

04 / WALLPAPER

Wallpaper

Add pattern, texture, or a statement wall. Discuss wallpaper installation, removal, and the wall preparation your project needs.

05 / PREP

Surface prep & finishing

Cleaning, sanding, caulking small gaps, and priming where needed, with protection for nearby floors and furnishings and cleanup when the work is done.

06 / CHARACTER

Limewash & special touches

Give a brick fireplace a softer, textured look with limewash, or explore a finishing detail that makes your interior feel more like you.

Every surface is different. We'll confirm the preparation, materials, and scope for your project before work begins.

The work tells the story

Real spaces.
Thoughtful changes.

A few projects that show what a fresh finish—and the work underneath it—can do.

Before & after · Bedroom
01 / Repair & refresh

From pink walls to a fresh start.

This bedroom needed more than a new color. Small plaster repairs were part of preparing the room for its next look.

The finished light walls and ceiling bring a simpler, brighter feel while keeping the room's original character.

02 / Texture & character

A different feel for a brick fireplace.

A limewash finish gives this fireplace a softer, varied look, letting the brick texture remain part of the design.

A small change in finish can make a familiar feature feel entirely different. This photo shows the fireplace while the surrounding room was still being renovated.

03 / In the community

School spirit, one wall at a time.

This local high school project brought the work beyond residential rooms and into a shared community space.

The painted block surfaces and contrasting stripe give a closer look at the project. See more in the video from my Facebook page.

Send a few photos, your town, and what you'd like to change. Include any wall damage and your ideal timing so we can start with the right details.

02 / MAKE A PLAN

Get clear on the details.

We'll discuss surfaces, repairs, colors, and finishes, then confirm the scope, estimate, and scheduling before the project begins.

03 / GET TO WORK

Prep to final coat.

I'll handle the agreed preparation and finishing work. We'll discuss access, protection for the room, cleanup, and any final touch-ups as part of the plan.

A few practical questions

Let's make it easier.

Every home is different. These are good things to discuss before we put a project on the calendar.

Ask Tait on Messenger ↗
Do I need to move the furniture?

We'll agree on what needs to move and who will move it before work starts. Let me know about heavy furniture or anything delicate so we can plan for it.

Can we talk through paint colors and finishes?

Bring your ideas, inspiration photos, or the colors you're considering. We'll discuss the look you want and confirm paint and finish choices before work begins.

Can I stay home while you paint?

Tell me what your household needs. We'll discuss the rooms involved, access, drying time, and any product-specific ventilation needs so we can plan around daily life.

What about kids and pets?

As a mom with family pets, I understand that homes are busy. We'll talk about keeping children and pets clear of the work area and wet surfaces while the project is underway.

How do I find out about timing and price?

Send your town, photos, the rooms or surfaces involved, and your preferred timeframe. Availability and pricing depend on the preparation, size, and finish, so we'll discuss your project before confirming an estimate or date.

Can you fix small wall damage first?

Small drywall and plaster repairs are part of the services I offer. Send close-up photos along with a wider view so we can discuss the repair and include it in the scope.
